Holistic in our approach and grounded in ethics, we have a “quality over quantity” mentality where families come in as strangers and leave as friends. Fully expecting your puppy will be with you for many years, we want each family to feel confident about the decision to collaborate with us on the addition of a new puppy.

Our commitment as breeders begins with a foundation of concern for maintaining the breed standard. Ongoing education in conformation, genetics and temperament informs our pairing decisions so that we uphold the standard and tradition that Lab lovers know and expect.

Genetic testing is easily accessible and incredibly useful when choosing our breeding pairs. We are committed to OFA and/or PennHIP , OFA elbow, OFA cardiac, CAER eye clearance and Paw Print genetic panel including dilute clearance for our females. This allows us to select males that best complement the girls to ensure the health and well being of future Grand River Labradors. For us, it’s worth the cost.
